The Beacon Walmer visit The Corner Café
As part of our community links, Carle Class from The Beacon Walmer visited The Corner Cafe for some delicious breakfast.
They learnt and developed the skills of ordering from a menu, eating out in a café, and then paying for their meal at the end.
Many thanks to the corner café in Walmer (@thecornerdeal) who welcomed our students and made this such a brilliant experience.
UK class have a fun start to 2017
This term we have enjoyed making relationships with our new friends. We have explored Dinosaurs and ‘Big ‘feet! We also painted our feet to see if they were big or little.
We have explored colours, numbers and sounds through our play with Dinosaurs. Our story has allowed us to explore textures, opposites and size.
Ireland class explore the different areas in our community
Last term we were learning about transport, so we explored the different types of transport in our community. The children loved watching people at the train station and waving goodbye to them, once they boarded the high-speed train. We also took a trip to the harbour, to look at the different boats and the sea.
Grenada class study art by Andy Goldsworthy
We have begun to study Andy Goldsworthy and how he creates his artwork. We have started to create some of our own interpretations of his style of working with paper leaves and flower petals. All found this to be really exciting as you will see from the pictures. We are looking forward to our next project.
Mexico pupils enjoy World Book Day 2017
The students had a fabulous day dressing up as their favourite characters. It gave them an opportunity to mingle with peers within the zone. It was a great opportunity to share favourite books and stories within their classes alongside their peers and adults. The staff were just as enthusiastic and dressed up to join in the fun.
