Weekly Parental Drop Ins
At the Beacon we know that working in partnership with you is the only way to achieve the best outcome for our young people.
We are keen to improve our communication with you as parents and carers. We are also looking to involve you more and are continually looking for ways to improve the service we provide to you and our young people.
From next term we are launching a weekly parental drop in from 2pm to 2.30pm and then 3.00pm to 4.00pm every Wednesday. We would love it if you could pop in for a coffee or tea and a chat. You don’t need an appointment and this isn’t an opportunity to ask for detailed feedback on progress of an individual child. Rather it is an informal opportunity to share suggestions, ask general questions and just get to know us. The ‘drop-in’ will be staffed by at least one member of SLT every week. Should you have a question or concern that we cannot answer on the day then we can make an appointment for you to come back another time to meet with the most appropriate member of staff.
If you don’t want or need to talk to one of us but would like to share a suggestion or comment, then please come in fill in a comment slip and drop it with your contact details in the suggestion box in reception. Someone will get back to you within 24 hours.
We are also launching a ‘virtual’ comment box so that those of you who cannot make it into school can share your thoughts. Please email parents.voice@thebeacon.kent.sch.uk
Please note the drop in and comment boxes are NOT for reporting attendance issues or for sharing safeguarding concerns. They are an informal way for us to get to know you better and share our thoughts about the service we provide for the young people we serve.
If you have any questions at all about parental engagement at The Beacon please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Alison Cole, Deputy Headteacher
