The Café is open on a Friday morning for all Ivory Coast and Egypt students. On a weekly basis the café serves toast, spreads and juices. Occasionally, the café offers specials. For Christmas the café sold cakes & hot chocolate.
Students take it in turns to work in the café; either as a cashier, waiter or cook. If it is not their turn on the work rota they become café customers. Students have their own individual menus with prices that reflect their ability.
The café is proving to be a huge success. Not only is it teaching the students valuable number and money skills it is also teaching responsibility, working as a team and developing skills related to running a business and working in a real life environment.
