Hydrotherapy Pool – Continuous Update

As you may be aware, our hydrotherapy pool is currently out of use. We are delighted to be able to inform you that work on the pool started in the summer break.

The purpose of this article is to provide you with updates regularly in one place.

As of Monday 15th October the work that already been carried out has involved the removal of all the previous filtration plant to make way for the expansion of the plant room to house the new sand filter. The pool itself stands as just a shell that has been tank tested for integrity.

All floor tiles have been removed along with 140mm of screed to make way for the new drainage system at floor level. Recent works involved heavy machinery that allowed numerous holes to be bored through the shell for pipe and light fittings. Two additional manhole inspection apertures have also been stitched drilled through the slab for access to the undercroft. During this time, the noise was kept at a minimum to avoid any disruption to the learning taking place in classroom nearby.

A lot of work has been carried out since then, for regular updates please see the galleries below.
