Forest School Taster Morning

On Sunday 3rd July at 10am-12pm, 10 pupils from KS2-3 and their parents took part in a Forest School fun day at The Beacon Wood.

There were four Level 3 Forest School Leaders who gave up their time to direct different activities such as team games, bug hunting, Nordic sling braiding, den building and camp fire cooking. For many of the parents, this was the first time they had seen their children engaging in Outdoor Learning and gained a greater understanding of the skills and values that Forest School teaches the pupils.

It was great to see everybody enjoying themselves and learning collaboratively in the outdoors together!

Some feedback from the parents:
  • “We really enjoyed the activities and the round swings. All the staff were helpful, informative and very friendly.”
  • “I get direct payments for my child and I’d love them to receive the opportunity to do Forest School in the summer holidays!”
  • “My children had a fantastic time and we loved the activities on offer! When will there be more sessions?”
