Kent School Games Finals Panathlon Swimming Event

On Monday 13th January 19 pupils from Zone 2 represented The Beacon at the Kent School Games ‘Panathlon Aqua Splash’ Finals, a swimming event for special schools. The pupils performed extremely well, working as a team for some events and putting in some fantastic individual swims with a few pupils even winning their heats! Our teams finished 5th and 9th in the competition which involved schools from across Kent. Well done to the whole swimming team!

Kent School Games Boccia Qualifying Event

12 pupils from zone 2 and 9 pupils from zone 3 represented The Beacon at the Kent School Games Boccia qualifying event hosted at St Anselms Schools on 26th November.  All of The Beacon teams were hugely competitive and represented the school with enormous pride and enjoyment which enabled them to put their physical competence into practice as well as build their character, resilience and team cohesion skills.  It was wonderful to see them all conduct themselves so competitively whilst demonstrating true sportsmanship throughout the event.  We are still awaiting the results from other competitions before we find out how many of our 6 teams have qualified for the Finals event in March.

Kent School Games Indoor Rowing Event

4 pupils from zone 2 and 5 pupils from Zone 3 represented The Beacon at the Kent School Games indoor rowing qualifying event hosted at Highworth Grammar on Thursday 12th December.  They conducted themselves with the utmost maturity in the company of their mainstream counterparts.  We’re delighted to reveal that every one of them qualified for the Kent School Games Finals event being held on Friday 31st January and we wish them the best of luck!
