Vikings Invade the Bahamas!

What a busy term we have had in the Bahamas!

Immersing ourselves in the lives of the Vikings. We have mastered the Nordic skills of loom making and weaving, creating intricate woollen tapestries. We have designed striking Viking shields and made Viking helmets comparing them to artefacts. We have studied the architecture of longhouses and longships. Moreover, we’ve also indulged in preparing and cooking historical Viking foods. The class have also enjoyed making and feasting on delicious sweets in celebration of Diwali.

The performance flair of the Bahamas has been further demonstrated through poetry writing singing and numerous drama sessions. This has been supported by engagement in learning about storytelling and poetry, alongside brochure and letter writing in English lessons. Bahamas really enjoyed their trip to the Quarterhouse to listen to an author explain how she wrote her trilogy of books. We are going to read Beetle Boy in class next term.

The children have also made progress in Maths, practising fractions, time, repeating patterns, position and direction, and data collection.

Overall, a very successful term.

Bahamas wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas holidays.
