The Beacon Achieves UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Bronze Award!

We have been working hard over the previous academic year towards the first stage of becoming a Rights Respecting School. The Rights Respecting School Award is an initiative run by UNICEF UK, which encourages schools to place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of its ethos and curriculum.

 

In July we submitted our application, and this week have received confirmation that The Beacon has been awarded Bronze: Rights Committed. This is a fantastic achievement, so congratulations to all pupils and staff!

The school has been sent a certificate which will be displayed in the café area.
