It has been a busy summer for Belize and the class have made good progress throughout the year. They have been working hard in preparation for their move to Year 10.
In English, the class have been working on developing their English skills. They have written some excellent character based stories and have learnt about poetry. They have also been reading the book ‘War Horse’ by Michael Morpurgo and have produced some fantastic work related to this.
In Creative Morning, pupils have participated in lots of different activities; some pupils have taken part in Mindfulness sessions and some have been working on the school show.
There have been lots of trips this term and many pupils have represented the school in a range of sporting activities. The Race for Life was also a huge success with pupils running laps to raise lots of money for Cancer Research.
The Summer Fayre was another highlight, as the class got to raise lots of money by planning and then organising an obstacle course. Thomas from Belize got the fastest time in Zone Two and was proud to receive his trophy.
Belize were extremely proud when two of our students won a competition, run by Kent Police, to design a poster about hate crime. Joshua was ‘The Beacon’ winner and Rachel, runner up. Both attended a ceremony hosted by Kent Police and received their awards along with students from other schools in the community.
Mrs Palmer, Mrs Rooney and Miss Brown would like to wish everyone in Belize a happy summer holidays and good luck for Year 10!
