As of today (Monday 15th October) the work that already been carried out has involved the removal of all the previous filtration plant to make way for the expansion of the plant room to house the new sand filter. The pool itself now stands as just a shell that has been tank tested for integrity.
All floor tiles have been removed along with 140mm of screed to make way for the new drainage system at floor level. Recent works involved heavy machinery that allowed numerous holes to be bored through the shell for pipe and light fittings. Two additional manhole inspection apertures have also been stitched drilled through the slab for access to the undercroft. During this time, the noise was kept at a minimum to avoid any disruption to the learning taking place in classroom nearby.
