France class celebrate different traditions and cultures

All the children in France class have been working very hard on their cross-curricula academic tasks and are making good progress, participating in a variety of themed celebration assemblies and festivals.

We joined in the Chinese New Year celebrations and performed a Dragon Dance, tasted Chinese food, made Chinese lanterns and hand printed a picture of a Red Rooster.

We had fun during our Burn’s Night celebration, showing our Scottish Dancing’ we tasted Haggis and Scottish Shortbread, listened to bag pipe music and made a toy figure of a Scotsman wearing a kilt.

Our next joint festival was St David’s Day: we made daffodils, listened to a Welsh Choir singing and one of Zone 1’s TAs speaking in the Welsh language.

We all enjoyed Pancake Day Shrove Tuesday, when we ate pancakes and then went outside and all had fun trying to toss them in the air.

We are now looking forward to learning about the Easter Story and making Easter cards and gifts for our friends and family.

All the children and Teaching Team in France class wish everyone a safe and happy Easter Holiday!
