Cuba class celebrate the Chinese New Year 2017

As part of creative morning, KS3 pupils have been learning about Chinese New Year. Some of their activities included mask making and storytelling, Chinese calendars, Tai Chi, Chinese writing, dance, music and dragons.

To celebrate the end of the project all the pupils took in a parade through the school. There were two very long dragons, one of which had 30 children inside and two Chinese bands.

We practised moving the dragon to the music and set off around the many corridors and open spaces. Most classes came out to wave us on.

After the parade the dragons and lanterns were used by classes in Zone 2 to try out and see what it was like to be in a Chinese dragon parade.
